Edward was born in Rothbury in 1745 and aged 30 married Frances Kirsop on 15th June 1775 (see very old certificate)
They had 9 children in total
John was born in 1775 and Henry in 1776, both born in Rothbury.
Then Edward and Frances moved to Bedlington, just 22 miles away, where Mary was born in 1779 and then my ancestor, Thomas, who was christened on 4th June 1781, Edward was born in 1783, Rebecca in 1784, and Frances in 1786.
It appears that the family moved to two miles from Bedlington to Horton by Blyth where the eighth child, James, was born in 1787 and finally Jane in 1791 (when Frances was 42).
I have found that in the old village of Horton by Blyth was by the New Delaval Colliery. This mine will come up later in this story of the history of my family.
This all suggests Edward like so many of my family was a Northumberland miner or worked in the iron works
The mother of these children, Frances, lived until the 8th April 1802 when she was 53 years old
Edward died on 31st May 1818 at the age of 73.
I followed many of the children and further information on the whole family can be found on my ancestry.com account Edward Henderson (1745 – 1818)
