A service for Mum was held in the UK
I did not attend because her death had distressed me too much but sent this message to be read out at her service.
I would like to thank you all for coming to this celebration of Mum’s life and also especially to Jo Bussicott for so kindly organising the day.
During the actual time of the service that you are having in England, I will be scattering Mum’s ashes, together with those of Dad’s that she kept for 36 years so that finally they will be together again.
Two weeks before she died Mum said that as she lived in Spain she wanted her ashes scattered on Montgo, the mountain that dominated the valley where she lived.
I have found a place high up on Montgo, just beyond a field of wild lavender. In one direction it overlooks the sea and the coastline towards Valencia and in the other the valley where she lived including the view down to our house. This valley has vineyards, oranges and almond groves. Also, there are beautiful views of a range of mountains in the far distance and no shadow will ever reach where their ashes are scattered. It is a peaceful beautiful spot and a 20-minute climb for Chester and I. A small plaque is attached to a rock, which says

Resting Together Again
September 2002.
I know that her life will be described at your service. All I would add is that she was a wonderful Mum. Until the last few years, I did not spend much of my adult life living very close to her. Never once did she complain and it was very special for me that she came to live with us in Spain. It was such a pity that she did not have longer here.
Still, I spent more time with her in the last two years than in the last twenty. That together with the fact that for the last few weeks of her life we said “I Love You” to each other every night was a great comfort to us both.
I hope that having some idea where she is now resting will add to your memories of her today.
All my love
Tony
